Torri was born from the ambition and intuition of Severino Torri for the world of industrial rubber seals. A project that took shape in 1973 with the purchase of a small injection moulding machine and a 300 sqm warehouse, in the heart of Sebino district. After decades of activity, today Torri is a leading company in the field, a strong enterprise looking to the future with enthusiasm, curiosity, resilience and optimism.
Thanks to avant-garde productive investments, Torri has been able to adapt skilfully to the changes of the market, reinventing itself and creating ambitious projects also thanks to the entry of the founder’s sons, Silvia and Francesco, who with the same passion and dedication, carry forward their father’s intuition: investing on the enormous potential of a sector in continuous development, that of rubber seals.
“Meeting challenges has never been an issue: MADE TO FIT since 1973” (Silvia and Francesco Torri)
Severino Torri founded Torri. The headquarters was a small warehouse, 300m2 wide, equipped with one sole injection press and a few simple tools.
Customers and orders increased, and so did the number of press machines installed. Therefore, an expansion of the production area was also becoming necessary. The time had come to acquire a new 2.000m2 industrial shed - the company's current headquarters.
Torri was the first company in Italy to study a sealing system for corrugated pipes. Collaboration began with two long-standing - and still existing - customers: Industrie Polieco and Italiana Corrugati.
The Just-in-Time delivery policy, one of the great strengths of the company, made it necessary to expand the warehouse of another 2.000 square meters to keep on guaranteeing customers a prompt fulfilment of orders.
The economic crisis marked the beginning of a new phase: in order not to be overwhelmed by market changes, a diversification of the production process was crucial. When Silvia and Francesco Torri joined the company, they convinced Severino to invest in a completely new and automated production line for the manufacturing of specific lip seals for drainage and sewage pipes.
In a warehouse of 2.500m2 – always in Capriolo – a new production plant was established. New customers were acquired and relationship with existing partners – e.g. Valsir – strengthened.
In over 45 years of work, Torri has always adapted to new contexts without being scared or surprised by novelties, despite the ever-changing market needs. Today, with this same entrepreneurial spirit, he has decided to start a significant reorganization process which has led to the strengthening of the company’s R&D and marketing departments, so as to meet today’s market requirements: speed, adaptability and high-quality products.
