The telescopic manhole cover rubber gasket is used to connect the manhole cover to the vertical PVC pipe underneath. This type of gasket is specially designed to allow the manhole cover collar to slide vertically so that the height of the road surface can be adjusted as needed without any problems of leaks or adjustments in the main pipe even in the event of future road repairs. This type of manhole cover, called telescopic, is a standard in many European countries.
